About this map

The town of Humboldt serves as the focal point of this mid-1960s survey of Minnehaha County, situated at a vital junction of the Chicago and North Western railroad and the developing Interstate 90. The landscape is defined by the numerous water bodies that dot the prairie, including the expansive Clear Lake to the north and the smaller Lost Lake and Beaver Lake nearer to the settlement. Rural life is evidenced by local landmarks such as the Mt Pleasant Sch and School No 103, along with a local Cem located just north of the town center.
