Ibex Peak rises as the central topographic focal point within the Sawtooth National Forest, overlooking a complex system of drainage forks and high-altitude mountain passes. The landscape is defined by its water sources, with numerous named springs such as Mabey Spring, Hole in the Wall Spring, and Orangeburg Spring sustaining the various canyons and gulches throughout this part of Cassia County. Transport through the terrain is marked by historical routes like the Coal Banks Sw and transit points at Beaverdam Pass and Daves Pass.
