1951 Map of Ikpikpuk River

USGS Topo · Published 1951

About this map

The Naval Petroleum Reserve No 4 dominates the central landscape of this 1951 reconnaissance, a vast expanse of the North Slope defined by its complex hydraulic networks. The Ikpikpuk River and its major tributaries, including the Titaluk River and Price River, wind through a northern plain densely pockmarked with tundra lakes. To the south, the terrain transitions into the more defined relief of Knifeblade Ridge and the Kigalik River valley.
