The Wisconsin River cuts through the northwest corner of this Lincoln County landscape, anchored by the Grandmother Dam. The area is defined by a dense concentration of glacial water bodies, including Tug Lake and Horgen Lake, surrounded by the townships of Rock Falls, Birch, and Merrill. The small settlement of Irma serves as a local hub near Bethany Ch and the Chicago Milwaukee St Paul and Pacific railroad line.
