Islay and the high plains of Laramie County are defined by a complex network of water management and natural drainage systems. This portion of the Wyoming landscape shows the critical role of irrigation and storage in the semi-arid west, exemplified by the Chadwick Reservoir Number 3 and Chadwick Ditch Number 1. These man-made features work alongside the natural forks of Lodgepole Cr, including the North, Middle, and South branches, which have historically carved the terrain.
