Jenningsville and the surrounding townships in Northeastern Pennsylvania are defined by a complex network of ridges and watercourses. The Susquehanna River clips the northeastern corner, but the interior landscape is shaped by the deeply cut valleys of Sugar Run Cr and Little Mehoopany Cr. Small settlements like Stowell, Sciotavale, and Lovelton are scattered along these creek beds and narrow secondary roads, illustrating a rural development pattern dictated by the terrain.
