Clifton and the smaller settlement of Jericho anchor the western edge of this central Louisiana landscape, where the terrain begins to rise into the Dough Hills. The area is defined by a dense network of waterways, including the winding Sieper Cr and Comrade Cr in the south, while the northern reaches are drained by Odom Cr and Jacks Cr. These streams feed into larger reservoirs such as Cotile Lake and the southern tip of Lake Rodemacher, which dominate the eastern topography.
