Shoshone National Forest defines this high-elevation landscape in Park County, where the eastern edges of the Absaroka Range dominate the topography. The summit of Jim Mtn provides a central landmark for a network of backcountry paths, including the Jim Mountain Trl and the Jim Mountain Cutacross Trl. To the northeast, the terrain drops dramatically into Rattlesnake Canyon beneath the towering heights of The Palisades.
