Siskiyou National Forest dominates this high-elevation landscape, where the boundary between Curry and Josephine counties follows the ridgelines. The terrain is defined by sharp peaks and deep gulches, with Josephine Mountain and Fiddler Mtn anchoring the eastern side of the sheet. Water systems flow through the steep topography, including the upper reaches of the Little Chetco River and numerous drainages like Lightning Gulch and Fiddler Gulch.
