1996 Map of Kangaroo Mountain

USGS Topo · Published 1998

About this map

The Red Buttes Wilderness straddles the rugged boundary between the Rogue River and Klamath National Forests, where steep ridges and high-altitude basins define the landscape. This 1996 revision shows a network of trails, most notably the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail as it winds past Kangaroo Mountain and through Cook and Green Pass. The naming conventions of the area's glacial lakes and peaks reflect a distinct personality, from the trio of Hello Lake, Elk Lake, and Goodbye Lake to the aptly named No-See-Um Camp.
