Uncompahgre National Forest spans this high-elevation landscape on the Uncompahgre Plateau, where deep drainages like N Fork Escalante Cr and Middle Fork Escalante Cr carve through a series of expansive mesa tops. The map documents a complex system of plateaus and benches, including Kelso Mesa and the distinct tiered elevations of North Love Mesa Bench and South Love Mesa Bench.
