Kenyon Mountain anchors the southern portion of this landscape, which is defined by high ridgelines and the headwaters of several critical drainages. The topography is dominated by prominent peaks including Scott Mtn, Split Mtn, and Thomas Mtn, which separate the watersheds of Camas Cr and its forks to the north from the winding path of Upper Rock Cr in the center. The rugged transition between the northern and southern halves of the sheet is marked by the line dividing Coos Co and Douglas Co. For researchers, the presence of various Bureau of Land Management routes, such as BLM Rd 29-9-3.2, and established thoroughfares like Weaver Creek Rd and Sandy Creek Rd indicates the primary access points for forestry and land management in this portion of the Oregon Coast Range.
