Keota anchors this area of eastern Oklahoma, situated near the southern edge of the massive Robert S Kerr Reservoir. The landscape is a complex arrangement of low-lying floodplains and prominent ridges, including Hancock Mtn, Foliart Mtn, and Bellow Mtn. These elevations provide a stark contrast to the fertile alluvial areas along the reservoir and Little Sans Bois Cr, such as Saylor Bottom, Mulehead Bottom, and Blaine Bottom.
