Ksanka Peak and the surrounding Galton Range dominate this 2017 study of the Kootenai National Forest along the international border with British Columbia. The landscape is defined by high-elevation water bodies and drainage systems, including Bluebird Lake, Paradise Lake, and the Wolverine Lakes complex. Significant peaks such as Independence Peak, Poorman Mtn, and Mt Barnaby create a series of basins, most notably Poorman Basin, Bluebird Basin, and Ten Lakes Basin.
