The glacial waters of Lake Norden and Lake Saint John dominate this section of the Coteau des Prairies in eastern South Dakota. The city of Lake Norden serves as the local hub, situated on the southern shore of its namesake lake where S Dakota Highway 21 and 193rd St intersect. This area is defined by its deep spiritual and community roots, evidenced by a high density of country burial grounds such as Lake Norden Baptist Cem, Trinity Lutheran Cem, and the South Trinity Cem located further south near Lake Albert. The landscape's hydrology is complex, with Dolph Cr feeding into the basin and newer lakeside developments like Wildwood Shores appearing along the eastern wetlands.
