The southern reach of Lake of the Woods and the high peaks of the southern Cascades define this area of Klamath County. Set within the overlapping boundaries of the Winema National Forest and Rogue River National Forest, the landscape is a network of alpine basins and volcanic summits. Prominent elevations like Greylock Mtn, Whiteface Peak, and Crater Mtn overlook a series of smaller water bodies including Weston Lake, Avalanche Lake, and Lake Waban.
