Coteau des Prairies, a high glacial plateau, defines the rolling upland character of this Kingsbury County landscape. The southern portion of the map is dominated by the expansive Lake Preston Lakebed and the waters of Lake Preston, where Orange Bridge Rd provides access across the shoreline. The settlement pattern follows a strict Section Line grid, with numerous unnamed farmsteads and agricultural structures scattered across the township lines of T112N and T111N.

Genealogists and local historians will find several rural burial grounds preserved here, including North Preston Lutheran Cem and Bethania Cem in the north, along with Hinderlie Cem and Odden Cem further south. These sites, often associated with early Scandinavian or German pioneer congregations, remain as some of the few named landmarks amidst the modern agricultural tracts and seasonal wetlands that dot the prairie surface.
