Lake Valley serves as a central point in this rural section of Washita County, where the landscape is defined by the winding course of the Washita River and a sophisticated network of water management features. The area is marked by numerous flood control structures, including the Oak Cr Site 10 Reservoir and Oak Cr Site 9 Reservoir, which punctuate the drainage basins of Wild Cat Cr and Gup Creek. For genealogists and local historians, several small burial sites offer connections to early settlement families in Townships 8 and 9 North.
