About this map

Lanai City serves as the primary hub on the northern slopes of the island of Lāna'i, where the terrain transitions from high ridges to the coastal waters of the Kalohi Channel. The landscape is defined by deep erosion, featuring numerous gulches such as Maunalei Gulch and Hauola Gulch that carve through the volcanic interior. Historic coastal settlements and sites like Keomuku and the Kaa Fishpond sit along the northeast shore, reflecting traditional Hawaiian maritime usage. Higher elevations are marked by significant landmarks including Puu Mahana and the Hinuhinu Pali cliffs. The area is also home to local memorial sites, specifically the Lanai Veterans Cem and Lanai Community Cem, which provide valuable genealogical context for the community. A network of footpaths and roads, including the Kuahua Trl and Keomuku Rd, connects the interior peaks to the northern coastline.
