About this map

Gearhart Mountain Wilderness anchors the southern portion of this high-altitude landscape, where the North Fork Sprague River originates at Head of River Spring. The topography transitions from the dramatic volcanic prominence of Gearhart Mountain toward the more accessible terrain of Lee Thomas Meadow and the crossroads at Lee Thomas Crossing. This area of the Fremont National Forest is defined by its complex hydrologic network, including the alpine basins of Dead Horse Lake and Campbell Lake perched above Dead Horse Rim Trail.
