Limestone Butte stands as the central high point in this 2017 survey of the Montana landscape within the Lewis & Clark National Forest. The geography is defined by a series of deep coulees and canyons, such as Kibbey Canyon and Limestone Canyon, which drain into the branching systems of Little Otter Cr and Big Otter Cr. These waterways cut through the high-elevation terrain, creating the distinct drainage patterns visible in Dutchman Coulee and Whiskey Spring Coulee.
