Sequoia National Park covers this corner of the high Sierra Nevada, where the headwaters of the Kaweah River system carve through granite peaks and massive basins. The drainage of the Marble Fork Kaweah River provides the primary corridor for human activity, centered around the Lodgepole CG and the terminus of Lodgepole Rd. From here, a sophisticated network of hiking trails, such as the Lakes Trl and the Tokopah Falls Trl, radiates into the backcountry toward high-elevation landmarks like Pear Lake and Tokopah Falls.
