The Hetch Hetchy Aqueduct cuts across the northern edge of this landscape, a vital piece of water infrastructure in Alameda County. The terrain is defined by a series of parallel ridges and deep canyons, including North Ridge, Pegleg Ridge, and Smiths Ridge. These formations guide the drainage of the N Fork Lone Tree Cr and Middle Fork Lone Tree Cr, which converge as they flow toward the valley floor. To the south, the topographic map records the steep walls of Hospital Canyon and Hellsinger Canyon. Numerous natural water sources are scattered throughout these hills, such as Lone Tree Mineral Spring, Bluerock Spring, and Sperry Springs, highlighting the geological activity of the region. This 2012 survey shows a largely undeveloped area where transport is limited to solitary corridors like S Chrisman Rd.
