
Long Valley in eastern Idaho is a landscape defined by significant geologic features and high-altitude water sources. The Willow Creek Lava Field dominates the southwest portion of the quadrangle, illustrating the volcanic history of the region. Distinctive topographic landmarks rise above the valley floor, including the prominent Mollies Nipple, the formation known as Three Buttes, and the heights of Sheep Mountain.
