Lowrey remains a focal point in this portion of the Sacramento Valley foothills, where the rural landscape is defined by the convergence of the N Fork Elder Cr, Middle Fork Elder Cr, and S Fork Elder Cr. The settlement is marked by the presence of the Lowrey Cem, located along Lowrey Cemetary Rd just west of the creek junctions. This 2022 survey illustrates a landscape of complex drainage systems and named ridges, from Valentine Ridge in the southwest to the heights of Gleason Peak in the southeast.
