Maiden Peak and its surrounding high-altitude terrain define this portion of the Olympic Mountains as documented in 2017. The landscape is split between the northern reaches of Olympic National Park and the adjacent Olympic National Forest. A network of glacial water bodies, including Maiden Lake, Grand Lake, and Moose Lake, dot the basins of Grand Valley and Badger Valley.
