The high desert landscape of Navajo Co and Apache Co is defined by a complex network of ephemeral drainages and essential water sources recorded in this 2018 survey. The terrain is characterized by broad erosional features including Cheney Draw, Martinez Draw, and Benzes Draw, which channel seasonal runoff through the arid plateau. Critical to local ranching and land use, numerous artificial and natural water points dot the landscape, such as Quema Tank, Sand Tank, and the numbered basins at Stink Seep Number One and Stink Seep Number Two. At the eastern edge, the eponymous Manuel Seep and Manuel Seep Draw provide a focal point for the local geography. A dense grid of ranch roads and descriptive trails, such as Ledger Ranch Trl and Rockin R Ranch Trl, crisscrosses the map, illustrating the modern rural infrastructure used to manage this expansive territory.
