Chequamegon National Forest encompasses much of this Wisconsin landscape, where the headwaters of several drainages carve through the northern woods. The topography is anchored by Saint Peters Dome, a prominent height overlooking a dense network of inland waters. Waterways like the Marengo River, Morgan Cr, and Whisky Cr define the local hydrology, feeding into a series of glacial lakes including Birch Lake, Coffee Lake, and Marengo Lake.
