The West Branch Manistique River and Creighton River converge in this low-lying area of Schoolcraft County, creating a complex network of seasonal drainages and wetlands. In the early 21st century, the landscape is defined by a series of logging and access roads, such as Highwater Truck Trl and Creighton Truck Trl, which navigate the marshy terrain between the many small tributaries. Significant water features like Stutts Creek and Hiawatha Cr feed into the river system in the southern portion of the map, while Tucker Lake sits isolated in the southeast. This survey illustrates the modern management of these northern Michigan forestlands, where traditional named truck trails remain the primary means of traversing the dense river basins and unnamed wetlands that dominate the region's topography.
