Moku'āweoweo Caldera dominates the crest of Mauna Loa in this modern topographic record of the summit within Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. The survey illustrates the complex volcanic history of the Island of Hawai'i, charting successive historical eruptive events through the distribution of the Lava Flow of 1851, the Lava Flow of 1926, and the Lava Flow of 1949. These flows, alongside the 1940 Cone and 1949 Cone, demonstrate how the mountain's topography is constantly reshaped by active volcanism.
