The Simpson County landscape southeast of Magee is defined by the headwaters of the Leaf River and its numerous tributaries, including Rials Creek and Skiffer Creek. This 2024 survey documents a region characterized by family-named roads and scattered rural burial grounds that speak to generations of local settlement. Numerous small cemeteries are situated across the terrain, from Old Saint Peter Cem in the northwest to Saint John Cem in the southeast.
