The borough of Middleburg serves as the central hub of this mid-1960s survey, positioned where the Penn Central railroad tracks parallel the winding course of Middle Creek. The landscape transition is defined by the steep slopes of Jacks Mountain and Shade Mountain, which hem in the agricultural and industrial valley. Pockets of local history are preserved in the numerous rural congregations and burying grounds, such as St Lukes Ch in Kissimmee and the Salem Ch Cem to the north.
