Milbourn Ranch sits at the heart of this high-desert landscape on the border of Bernalillo and Torrance counties. The area is defined by a network of drainage features, or arroyos, that carve through the terrain, including the prominent Arroyo Chinchonte and Arroyo Miga. These seasonal watercourses are central to the local geography, alongside named canyons such as Cañon del Pino and Cañada de la Perra. A notable point of local history is the Garland Cem, located west of the primary ranch site near the intersection of several rural roads.
