Miles sits at the northern end of this west Texas landscape, organized around a dense grid of streets including Ash St, Pear St, and Main St. The town is the primary settlement in a region defined by the divide between Runnels and Tom Green counties. To the south, the terrain becomes more varied as it descends toward the Concho River, which meanders through the southern half of the quadrangle. Several smaller tributaries, such as Battle Cr and Willow Creek, carve drainage patterns through the agricultural land, while the Soil Conservation Service Site Number 2 Reservoir provides essential water management in the northwest. Local history is anchored by the Miles Cem just south of town and the more remote Mullins Cem near the river, connected by a network of rural roads like Mullins Crossing Rd.
