Marten Hot Springs sits along the southern edge of this Idaho wilderness, located where the steep drainage of Marten Cr meets the lower slopes. The landscape is defined by the deep carving of the Selway River, which flows through the northern half of the territory, passing Dry Bar and receiving numerous tributaries like Three-links Cr and Pinchot Cr. This portion of the Nez Perce National Forest is characterized by high ridges and prominent summits, including Mink Peak and Wolf Point. To the south, high-elevation water features such as Doe Lake feed into the system of creeks that drain this high country. The map traces the varied terrain from the riverbanks up to Sixtytwo Ridge and Meeker Ridge, illustrating the drainage patterns of Mink Cr, Sand Cr, and Lone Pine Cr.
