Mammoth Springs Campground and the high ridges of the St. Joe National Forest define this landscape in the Idaho Panhandle. The topography is dominated by sharp peaks and named ridges, including Montana Ridge, Hoodoo Ridge, and Surveyors Ridge, which separate deep drainages fed by Montana Creek and Spotted Louis Creek. The Little North Fork Clearwater River winds through the southern half of the map, receiving waters from Stubtoe Creek and Butte Creek.
