St. Joe National Forest dominates this high-altitude landscape in the Clearwater Mountains of Idaho. The terrain is defined by a dense network of steep ridges and drainages that feed the Little North Fork Clearwater River, which winds across the southern half of the sheet. Survey points such as Montana Peak, Snow Peak, and Hoodoo Peak provide the primary geographic landmarks in this largely roadless wilderness.
