USGS Topo · Published 1895

About this map

The Chazy River and English River systems dominate this northern New York landscape, just south of the United States and Canada border. In the late nineteenth century, the region was defined by its railroad intersections and isolated industrial pockets. Mooers Junction serves as a critical transport hub where the Central Vermont RR meets the Delaware and Hudson Co. RR, facilitating the movement of timber and goods across the Mooers and Altona townships.
