Kootenai National Forest dominates this section of northwestern Montana, where the Yaak River cuts through the high elevations of the Purcell Mountains. The landscape is defined by its verticality, anchored by Mt Baldy in the center and Thunder Mtn to the west. This 2014 survey documents the intricate network of forest development roads, such as Natl Forest Develop Road 591 Rd, which provide access to these remote ridgelines and the drainages of Spread Cr and Hellroaring Cr.
