Lassen Volcanic National Park dominates the northern half of this landscape, centered on the high volcanic peak of Mt Harkness. The terrain is defined by a dense network of mountain lakes, including the expansive Juniper Lake and smaller bodies like Crystal Lake and Horseshoe Lake. To the south, the land transitions into the Lassen National Forest, where the topography drops into the Warner Valley.
