Juniper Lake dominates the central landscape of this high-elevation survey, sitting at the junction of Lassen Volcanic National Park and the surrounding Lassen National Forest. The geography is defined by volcanic features, including the prominent summit of Mount Harkness with its established Lookout and the geologically distinct Red Cinder Cone to the north. These peaks overlook a complex system of alpine water bodies, from Willow Lake in the south to the clustered Upper Twin Lake and Swan Lake at the northern boundary.
