Mt Powell and South Kings Peak anchor this high-elevation region along the boundary of Wasatch National Forest and Ashley National Forest. The landscape is defined by massive glacial cirques and basins, such as Garfield Basin and the striking rock formations of Red Castle. This area serves as a critical hydrologic headwaters, with the Henrys Fork and Yellowstone Cr draining the northern and southern slopes respectively.
