About this map

The high alpine crest of the Uinta Mountains Boundary Line dominates this early twentieth-century survey, marking the topographical divide where the Wasatch National Forest meets the Uinta National Forest. This era of mapping captured the headwaters of the region's major river systems, including the Bear River, Provo River, and Duchesne River, before modern water management transformed their lower reaches. The landscape is defined by massive peaks such as Hayden Peak and Tokewanna Pk., surrounded by a dense network of glacial basins containing Mirror Lake, Grandaddy Lake, and Brown Duck Lake. While largely a wilderness of the Department of the Interior, the map documents the Utah-Wyoming Boundary Line and the isolated settlement at Holiday Park on the upper Weber River.
