Mount Waas and Manns Peak dominate the high-elevation terrain within the Manti-La Sal National Forest on the border of Grand and San Juan counties. This 1985 provisional survey captures a landscape defined by deep canyons and flat-topped mesas, including Fisher Mesa and Andy Mesa. The high mountain basins, such as Beaver Basin, feed an intricate network of waterways like Fisher Creek and Bear Creek, which cut through the steep topography.
