1954 Map of Mt Peale 1 SW

USGS Topo · Published 1955

About this map

Old La Sal and the nearby ranching and timber outpost of La Sal occupy the high plateau landscape shown in this mid-century survey. The area is defined by the transition from the timbered heights of the Manti-La Sal National Forest down into the deeply incised drainage systems of La Sal Creek and Coyote Wash. Resource extraction and land management are evident through the presence of a Sawmill near the center of the sheet and the La Sal Guard Station to the east.
