Murray Hill rises above a landscape defined by deep coulees and ridges in Valley County, Montana, just north of the expansive Fort Peck Lake. The terrain is shaped by water movement and storage, from the southern reach of Sutherland Cr to the small upland catchments of Halfpint Reservoir and Valley Reservoir. The map illustrates a network of drainage features like Barber Coulee and Vanwinkle Coulee that carve through the high ground of Shufeldt Ridge and Van Hook Ridge.
