East Range peaks and desert canyons dominate this landscape in Pershing County, where the high ridges of Rockhill Mtn and Organ Peak overlook the wide expanse of Grass Valley. This 1990 provisional survey records a transition from the rugged mining activity of the mid-20th century to a more isolated ranching environment. Remnants of the region's mineral history are evident in the Little Jupiter Mine and Four Sisters Mine, alongside an Abandoned Mill in the southern reaches of Rockhill Canyon.
