Sweetwater Creek and its many tributaries, including Lick Log Creek and Gothards Creek, carve through this section of Georgia just north of Douglasville. By the early 21st century, the landscape shows a transition from rural homesteads and family farms toward residential developments such as Honeysuckle Plantation, Emerald Forest, and Victoria Cove. Despite the suburban growth, numerous historical markers remain, particularly in the form of country burial grounds like Star of Bethlehem Cemetery, New Harmony Cemetery, and Cochran Ridge Cemetery.
