The Purcell Mountains dominate this high-altitude landscape within the Kootenai National Forest in Lincoln County. The small settlement of Sylvanite sits at the northeastern edge of the sheet along the Yaak River, a corridor defined by early mining history and timber access. The terrain is marked by several prominent peaks, including Newton Mtn, Abe Lincoln Mtn, and Keystone Mtn, which are connected by a network of forest development roads and specialized trails like the Tepee Mountain Trl.
