Nez Perce Peak and the surrounding high country of the Bitterroot National Forest dominate this mountain landscape along the border of Idaho and Montana. The terrain is defined by extreme relief, where narrow ridgelines separate drainage basins such as Deep Creek and Blue Joint Creek. The Magruder Corridor Rd provides the primary traverse through this wilderness, passing near the high-elevation Nez Perce Pass.
